In this paper, mid-stage pulping effluent and simulated sewage was treated by the double membrane bioreactor and aerobic activated sludge was studied, which expected to provide parameters for the later study. At first, the sludge was domesticated by simulated sewage in this paper, after of which the dominant bacteria in the sludge was pure-cultivated and identificated. Meanwhile, kinds of index of the sludge were tested, which would provide data for the adjustment of processing cycle. In the end of the experiment, the processing cycle of the double membrane bioreactor was adjusted to 32 h, during which aerobic period o was adjusted 8 h and anaerobic period o was adjusted 24 h.Then, the impact resistant ability and the best operation condition of the double membrane bioreactor was studied through adjusting the DO concentration and pH value of the sewage. Result indicated that the double membrane bioreactor showed better environmental adaptability and mpact resistant ability,. The best operation condition of the double membrane bioreactor was that the DO concentration was 3 mg/L, the pH was pH 7-8.Finally, the mixing ratio of the mid-stage pulping effluent and nutrient was changed to impact the bioreactor, which would show the treatment effect of mid-stage pulping effluent by the double membrane bioreactor. Results show that the double membrane bioreactor performance better when the operation condition was changed. Compared with the ordinary aerobic activated sludge reactor, the COD removal rate and the value of SVI and MLSS could recoveried to normal levels in a shorter time. At the last, COD in the the double membrane bioreactor and aerobic activated sludge was up to 90.6% and 82.4% respectively, and MLSS was 3.876/L and 3.135g/L respectively, the SVI was 60.33ml/g and 70.28ml/g respectively.
