Since its birth in the last century, the effect of carbon fiber composite materials in every trade of human is becoming more and more important. Because of its outstanding characteristics for example light weight and high strength, it also obtained great application in aviation field. But the harsh environment will also make the various forms of damage on the carbon fiber composite material. Among them, the corrosion damage has caused a great threat to the safety of state property, the safety of People and military&civil aircraft. In this paper, the research object is the oxidation corrosion damage in the high temperature surrounding, the mechanism and the monitoring of high temperature oxidation corrosion of carbon fiber composite materials is discussed.Firstly, the composition, types and damage of the carbon fiber composite material, the classification, existing detection methods of corrosion damage are summarized in this paper. Oxidation corrosion mechanism of carbon fiber composite materials is divided into a plurality of interval according to the temperature from 400 to above 1300 DEG C that is the temperature of the environment which is the carbon fiber composite material component of aircraft engine in. And the multiphysics coupling software Comsol is used to study the oxidation corrosion process of carbon fiber composite materials in the 400~700 DEG C environment. With the help of the computer simulation technology and fiber bragg grating strain experiment data, a feasibility study is carried out which is on monitoring the oxidation corrosion of carbon fiber composite material in the high temperature environment with fiber bragg grating sensor in this paper. Finally, conclusions can be drawn that multiphysics coupling software Comsol can be used to simulate the corrosion of the carbon fiber composite material and considering the material conversion, heat transfer, geometry change and other factors in the process of corrosion; the stain data collected by fiber bragg grating sensor can be used to monitor the oxidation corrosion of carbon fiber composite material under high temperature in real time.
