Along with the social development and the continuous improvement of living standards, people demand higher and higher on costume. Correspondingly, the demands on the fabric are becoming higher and higher. In recent years, the present pre-shrinking machine could not satisfy the large shrinkage rate of the newly emerging fabric. Meanwhile, the pre-shrinking machine is asked more on achieving the high and stable shrinkage rate.Shrinking of fabric is mainly completed in the pre-shrinking machine. Pre-shrinking machine is composed of three parts: wetting machine, heavy rubber blanket shrinking machine and felt finishing machine. Wetting machine achieves the wetting process to make the fabric plasticity. Heavy rubber blanket shrinking machine mainly completes the shrinking process. Felt finishing machine is to control the moisture regain of the fabric and stabilize the shrinkage rate as well as improve the hand feeling by the process of drying and finishing on the fabric after shrinking.Firstly, this article analyzes the reason of fabric elongation according to the fabric structure. It concludes two necessary conditions to complete the shrinking. One, the fabric must have potential shrinkage. Two, external could provide necessary conditions of shrinkage to fabric. Only to meet both two conditions, the fabric can obtain effective shrinkage.Secondly, this article studies the working principle of the pre-shrinking machine, the compression deformation and the variation on speed of the running rubber blanket machine, when the fabric is in the holding area, the water content of fabric is vaporized and penetrates inside fiber to make the fabric swell, finally to achieve the fabric shrinkage along with the rubber blanket’s contraction. The theoretic shrinkage rate of fabric is concluded according to the principle of the pinched rubber blanket, This article also analyzes the impacts upon the shrinkage rate from clothing path. According to the working principle of pre-shrinking machine and the deformation principle of rubber roller, it is concluded to obtain the maximum theoretic shrinkage rate on pre-shrinking machine.At last, it lists the configuration of pre-shrinking machine which which is satisfied with the big shrinkage rate, and analyzes the different configuration of machince to adapt to the fabric varieties.Thirdly, this article analyzes the structure of the key parts: press roll and pressed roll. The force analysis on press roll is made too to keep the stabilization of shrinkage rate due to impacts from large deformation of press roll.Fourth, this article analyzes the technological parameters affected in fabric shrinkage rate such as online monitoring principle of humidity, temperature and tension。the on-line detection method of fabric shrinkage and the further automatic online monitoring of fabric shrinkage are brought forward. It is analyzed of the requirements on press mechanism from online monitoring, eventually to make the stable shrinkage of fabric reaching the relevant standard.Fifth, the finite element software ANSYS is used as the tool to make the modeling of press roll and swing arm as per the design parameter, aiming at solving the displacement and stress, verifying that the two key parts of machine in automatic control can meet the design requirements, concluding the reasonability and feasibility of mechanical structure in the shrinkage control.
