In this paper, two different composite resins(M-3 and D201-Fe) were prepared by two methods, and its adsorbent performances for the M-3 were mainly studied. The magnetic acrylic acid resin M-3 was prepared by suspension polymerization doped with Nano magnetic γ-Fe2O3, The FTIR Spectrometer, Scanning Electron Microscope, Vibrating Sample Magnetometer and the whole automatic specific surface analyzer were used to carry out a series of characterization. The adsorptive behavior of two kinds of aromatic sulfonic acid, 2-Naphthalenesulfonic acid(2-NSA) and 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,3,6-disulfonic acid(H acid), from an aquatic environment by using M-3 under different experimental conditions was investigated. These results showed that aromatic sulfonic acid was strongly adsorbed in the weak acid environment around pH=5.Low temperature was good for the adsorption. The adsorption of 2-NSA, H acid can reach the equilibrium in 50 minutes, 40 minutes. Moreover, after the addition of other species such as SO42- and SO32- coexisted with aromatic sulfonic acid, the adsorption capacity of M-3 remained 85%. In addition, M-3 could be regenerated by sodium hydroxide with the rate of regeneration over 95%. Finaly, solution concentration was almost zero at the beginning. It was verified that M-3 was a suitable adsorp material for micro-pollution treatment. On contrary, we adopted the impregation method to load hydrated ferric oxide on resin D201. The adsorption of 2-NSA by using D201-Fe was also studied under different experiment conditions, including the effects of pH, temperature, equilibrium time and coexisting ions. These results indicated that D201-Fe had a larger adsorption capacity of 2-NSA when the pH was above 5. The saturated adsorption capacity is up to 797 mg/g.The adsorption of D201-Fe to 2-NSA was decreased in the presence of the competing anions such as SO42- and SO32-.
