This article is about the design of new style automatic short steel bar straightening machines. This machine is to straighten with no scratch mainly for Ф 4 ~ 12 mm diameter and length of 150 mm tool steel rods. This design is to divide the short steel bar straightening machine into four main actuators: the feeding mechanism, the following support roll mechanism, the roll mechanism, the reversing transmission mechanism and a number of transmission system design.Since new style automatic short steel bar straightening machines are used for precision straightening of drills under cylinder bar and cylindrical milling cutter, further increasing the straightness and quality of products. Departing from the theory of rotation inflection straightening, establish straightening roll system as the support at two sides of short steel bar, motivating the short steel bar to rotate. Realize straightening by rolling reduction of roll compactor and variation of position. Based on the roll system of multi-roll straightening machines, establish fifteen roller straightening roller systems which includes up-and-down straightening roll, back-up roller, up-and-down drive roll, expression roll and mechanical model. Applying Matlab program, figure out contact force and driving torque among rollers during the working process of the roll system.Using 3d engineering design software Solidworks design of roll system structure and the establishment of the geometric model. Utilizing Adams to simplify and simulate the model, using autoflex module will straightening roller systems flexibility. Simulating the stress on each contact point, compare theoretical analysis and simulation result to verify the reliability of theoretical analysis and simulation result. In order to study of the stability of the roll system more accurate, measure the fifteen roller straightening roller systems of each roll in the angular velocity and torque and analyze the simulation results. By studying the stress of the straightening roller systems, rotational speed and torque to verify the stability of the roll system.
