Spiral steel pipe is made with steel plate, weld defect is unable to identify with the naked eye. To overall inspection on products is conducted by, improve the quality of the spiral steel pipe products, enhance the reliability and security of the spiral steel pipe, with little damage to the product the original shape, does not change its use conditions, the performance of need a nondestructive testing for spiral steel pipe. Nondestructive testing has a variety of detection means. Ultrasonic detection method is more sensitive than other, less radiation, and can carry on the accurate positioning and quantitative analysis of defects, and fast inspection speed.Practical engineering project in a spiral tube mill, spiral steel pipe ultrasonic testing system based on PLC is designed. First according to the process flow, design the spiral pipe ultrasonic detection system control scheme, determine the system input and output points and configuration; Secondly according to the control scheme, the ladder diagram is used for programming, and design the control system of main circuit and control circuit; Then design the spiral steel pipe ultrasonic detection system hardware architecture, and analyzes all parts of hardware function, according to the control plan to complete the whole of the spiral steel pipe installation of ultrasonic detection system; Finally has carried on the debugging of the whole detection system, the debugging results show that the design of spiral steel pipe ultrasonic testing system can rapidly and accurately detect the spiral steel tube defects, the rationality and practicability of the design scheme was verified.
