The hydraulic bending roll system is one of the most widely used and effective way to control the shape of the plate, which has been widely used in the rolling mills. Most of the control systems adopt the traditional PID control algorithm. But the traditional PID control is far from meeting the requirements of high precision control. In recent years, with the rapid development of the intelligent control algorithm, the theory has become increasingly mature. The intelligent control algorithm has been gradually applied in practical production. Many researches combined the intelligent control algorithm with the PID algorithm, and applied it to the hydraulic bending roll control system, achieving good control effect. Hence, further researches on the application of intelligent control have become more and more important.(1) On the basis of the systematical study on the composition and basic principle of the hydraulic bending roll control system, by analyzing the characteristics and working principle of that system, the model of the hydraulic bending roll system was established. The time domain analysis of the model were carried out by Matlab software and the traditional control method of the hydraulic bending roll system was simulated;(2) Combining the intelligent control method, the genetic algorithm and the particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm were applied to the hydraulic bending roll control system. The model of the intelligent control system was established and the simulation research of the model was conducted;(3) Aimed at the deficiency of the genetic algorithm and the particle swarm optimization algorithm in the application of the hydraulic bending roll control system, a particle swarm optimization algorithm model with genetic factors and an ant colony algorithm model with genetic factors were first proposed in this paper. Then the models were applied in the system. The simulation results showed that the two models overcame the problem that the particle swarm algorithm and the ant colony algorithm are easy to fall into the local optimal solution, and the control effect has been improved;(4) In order to further verify the reliability of the model, with the external disturbance, the simulation was carried out. The results showed that the ant colony model with the genetic factor has the strongest anti-interference ability, and high control precision;(5) With the hydraulic bending roll control system of the 1220 Four-Roller Cold Mill as the object, all simulation of this paper were conducted by Matlab software and the results had a high reliability. It serve as a very useful reference and guidance for the further researches of the intelligent control of the hydraulic bending roll system, which has important practical guiding significance to improve the quality of the plate.
