Tool system for high-speed machining is a necessary condition to achieve the high-speed machining, the performance of tool system for high-speed machining directly determine the quality, efficiency and reliability of the high-speed machining. There is a problem of the current tool system for high-speed machining, the radial separation appears at tool-holder/spindle interface at high speed. This problem seriously affect the connection reliability of tool-holder/spindle interface and restrict the improvement of speed. In order to solve this problem, a high-speed spindle with the function of anti-expansion was designed. By using theoretical calculation method and finite element method, connection performance of this spindle was analysized.Determined the overall structure, connecting way of the spindle. And the structure, size and material of ceramic-sleeve was determined too. The relevant theories and simulate calculation has been carried on the design of structure, size and material of interface.Analyzed the deformation theory of the interface. Analyzed the main factors affecting the deformation of interface, and found out the design basis in theory in this paper; The connection reliability of the spindle/sleeve were analyzed in theory, and got a conclusion that the structure formed by spindle and sleeve could be as a composite spindle; Established the finite element model and used it to simulate the deformation of the interface and the connection reliability of spindle and sleeve; The limit velocity of interface was analyzed in theory and finite element analysis.Analyzed the connection performance of the interface. Analyzed the effection to the interface contact stress of spindle speed, pre-tightening force and interface cone with surplus quantity. Meanwhile, the axial stiffness, torsional stiffness and radial stiffness were analyzed and the comparative analysis with conventional HSK spindle/handle interface was made.Studies show that the interface of high-speed spindle designed in this paper performs better than the conventional HSK spindle/handle interface. Its limit velocity and contact stiffness are superior to the conventional HSK spindle/handle interface.
