The preparation process of nano materials is to change the material into nanometer grade by some means. One of the most widely used method for the preparation of nanomaterials is to use surfactants as the soft template. Preparation of nanomaterials with different morphologies and properties requires different soft templates or different preparation methods, which makes the preparation process become inflexible and cumbersome. In this paper, we have designed a new type of photoresponsive surfactants, which can be controlled by light to prepare nanomaterials with different morphologies and properties. The main research work is as follows:In the first chapter, the organic photoresponsive molecules and surfactants were introduced in detail. In the introduction of organic photoresponsive molecules, the aryl azo compounds are mainly introduced. In the overview of the surfactants, the cationic surfactant and the light response surfactant were introduced detailly.Through the analysis and summary of former investigations, we introduced the research purpose and innovation point of this paper. In the second chapter, we introduced the synthesis and characterization of the target compounds. We have prepared a series of light responsive surfactants by four steps, and characterized the structure of the target compounds by NMR, ESI-mass and FT-IR.In the third chapter, we use the UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy to characterize the light response of the compound, and the results show that these compounds have good optical response properties. Surface tension method and conductivity method were used to explore the colloidal chemical properties of compounds. The results show that compared with traditional imidazole cation surfactants these compounds have better surface active properties and their micelles have a larger volume. The formation of micelle is a spontaneous exothermic process. At the same time, it is a process from disorder to orderly state. We also find out that one of them has fluorescence propertiesIn the fourth chapter, we mainly study the application of these new type of light response surfactants in preparation of nanomaterials. The results show that these compounds has good application prospects in the preparation of gold nanomaterials and the preparation of intercalation composite materials. In summary, a series of new photoresponsive surfactants have been designed and synthesized in this paper. Compared with the traditional imidazole cationic surfactant, the micelle of this new type of photoresponsive surfactant has a larger volume.Compared to the existing research in the photoresponsive surfactants, the micellar morphology of this new compounds will change dramatically under ultraviolet light irradiation. The isomerization of the surfactans will not consumed with the conformation of the hydrophobic chain. And these surfactants have many sites to introduce other functional groups. We have studied their light response properties and colloidal chemical properties detailly. At the same time, we also studied their applications in the preparation ofnanomaterials. The results show that we can control the ultraviolet to get different morphology and different properties of nanomaterials.
