Coordination compounds, have attracted more and more attention for promising applications in nonlinear optics, catalysis and chemical sensor etc. Triptycene which belong to D3 h symmetry group is comprised of three benzene rings shown 120°angles with each other. Triptycene can be an ideal π-electron packing receptor, because it has an intrinsic “internal molecular free volume”. The triptycene and its derivants have wide applications in the area of coordination chemistry due to the characteristics of the structure and property. In this thesis, we try to synthesize novel coordination complexes by use of the triptycene carboxylates and the secondary ligands to assemble with transitional metal ions. The primary research contents and results are as follows:1.Synthesis, structure and characterization of six coordination compounds based on triptycene-2-carboxylicSix novel coordination compounds are obtained by hydrothermal method.Compound 1 is constructed by triptycene-2-carboxylic, 2,2’-bipyridine and Co(NO3)2.Compound 2 is composited with triptycene-2-carboxylic, phenanthroline and Cu(NO3)2. The two compounds are expanded to three dimension structure by the hydrogen bonds and the π-π stacking interaction of benzene rings in triptycene group. One dimension 3 is constructed by triptycene-2-carboxylic, 4,4’-bipyridine and Cu(NO3)2. One dimension 4 is composited with triptycene-2-carboxylic,4,4’-bipyridine and Zn(NO3)2. One dimension 5 is composited with triptycene-2-carboxylic, 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane and Zn(NO3)2. Compound 6 is constructed by triptycene-2-carboxylic, 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane and Cd(NO3)2. The two compounds have similar structrue and both belong to chiral space group. The anlysis by circular dichroism shows that 5 is a chiral compound and 6 is a racemic compound. The anlysis by fluorescence shows that both two compounds have excellent photoluminescences proporties.2. Synthesis, structure and characterization of two coordination compounds based on triptycene-2,7-dicarboxylicTwo kinds of coordination polymer are obtained by hydrothermal method.Compound 7 and 8 have the same two-dimension structrue, which are both composited with triptycene-2,7-dicarboxylic, 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane and metal ions. The anlysis by thermogravimetry shows that both two compounds have high thermal stability, they can remain stable until 400℃. The anlysis by fluorescence show that 8 has excellent photoluminescences proporties.3. Synthesis, structure and characterization of two coordination compounds based on triptycene-2,3,6,7,12,13-hexacarboxylicTwo kinds of coordination polymer are obtained by solvent evaporation method.Compound 9 is constructed by triptycene-2,3,6,7,12,13-hexacarboxylic,4,4’-bipyridine and Ni(NO3)2. Compound 10 is composited with 4,4’-bipyridine,triptycene-2,3,6,7,12,13-hexacarboxylic and Co(NO3)2. The two compounds have the same structrue, both are one dimension chain structrue.
