As a main green gas, the bulk CO 2 emission can lead the global warm issues. However,CO2 is another kind of carbon storage medium. The rise of CO 2 emission due to the increasing fossil fuel consumption with the rapid development makes it urgent to make break-through in the clean utilizatio n of coal for CO2 emission reduction, which is currently hindering the society development more and more severely. Hence, it may be of great significance in either economic, social, environmental aspects to make the efficient & recycling utilization of coal reality. Herein, the efficient & recycling utilization of carbon can be achieved by the combination of high efficiency conversion and utilization of both coal and the CO2 produced.First, coal gasification theory in addition to the development tendency, besides, current emission and utilizationof CO 2 were reviewed. Then the general principle,process, feasibility, operability of pressurized gasification of pulverized coal in entrained flow gasifier, with CO2 partially or absol utely replacing steam acting as gasification agent were discussed. Furthermore, CO-rich syngas production by entrained flow gasifier and the corresponding pilot unit development were proposed. Based on the forementioned contents, specific design&calculatio n principles, and description of the overall process, particularly the structure design& calculation of key devices, including the control and interlock systems were then demonstrated. The construction of 10kg/hscale pilot unit with the designed temperature and designed pressure of 1500 ℃,1.0MPa,respectively has finished. The practicability, possibility of equipments controlling methods in addition to the further optimization were proposed. General speaking, the development such pilot plant will be of great significance for the industrialization in future.
