With the rapid development of modern manufacturing industry, the demand of mold increases substantially and the application fields expand unceasingly, which puts forward higher requirements on mold manufacturing industry. The die steel Cr12 Mo V is widely used in mold manufacturing Because of its advantages such as high hardness,good wear resistance and hardenability. The researches on the die steel Cr12 Mo V focus on turning for present, but the turning cannot meets the requirements for the surface that demands higher machining precision. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the milling mechanism on the die steel Cr12 Mo V.The high speed milling of the die steel Cr12 Mo V is studied by the methods of the analysis in this thesis and the finite element simulation. The main research contents are as follows:(1)Simulating the die steel Cr12 Mo V under the three sets cutting parameters for cutting tools(Ti N coating tool, PCBN cutting tools and Al2O3 ceramic cutting tool)by using the DEFORM-3D software.The rule of cutting temperature and tool wear on three kinds of cutting tool materials under the three sets of cutting parameters is analyzed.The results showed that the maximum of cutting temperature and tool wear occurs at the edge of cutting tool.The cutting temperature and tool wear of Al2O3 ceramic cutting tool is obviously higher than TiN coating tool and PCBN cutting tools.The growth of cutting temperature and tool wear of Al2O3 ceramic cutting tool is obviously higher than TiN coating tool and PCBN cutting tools with the increased amount of cutting parameters. According to the analysis of point tracking tool,Cutting temperature is directly related to tool wear,the higher the temperature is,the greater tool wear is.Therefore,it is recommended to use PCBN tool or TiN coated tool when milling die steel Cr12 Mo V.(2) According to the orthogonal test table on the cutting dosage,the milling model of the die steel Cr12 Mo V by the PCBN is simulated,the simulation results are analyzed by the multiple linear regression by using the MATLAB software, so the temperature prediction model of milling the die steel Cr12 Mo V is obtained and it is12.03 0.01 0.006 c pq=7.6v f a.Analyzing cutting parameters the primary and the secondary order of influencing cutting temperature and the optimal combination of various factors by using the method of the extremum difference analysis.(3)Based on the solid heat conduction law, according to the characteristics ofthe heat source temperature field overlapping addition(infinite continued surface heat source temperature field) and the high speed face milling, the mathematic analytic models of the temperature rise that any point on the high speed milling workpiece machined surface at any moment is established.
