Constant deceleration braking can significantly reduce mechanical shock in the safety brake for mechanical equipment and people in the cage, can effectively prevent the slippage in the multi-rope friction hoist safety braking, and its braking effection is ideal. However, to complete the reformation of the constant deceleration braking mode from the constant torque braking mode, the set of hydraulic station should be changed completely which would cost a lot, and the constant torque braking system would be idle which could be a waste of resource. So it would be significant to develop an equipment which can change the constant torque braking mode to the constant deceleration mode without changing the original system.The research content of this paper is to optimize and improve the effection of hoist braking system based on an existing constant torque-deceleration braking system.Firstly, according to the feedback of actual effection, the paper improved the schematic diagram of conversion device on constant deceleration braking and redesigned the constant deceleration brake conversion device. Then according to industry regulations, the model of main hydraulic elements were determined by calculating.Secondly, the simulation software AMESim is used to analyze the characteristics of the proportional relief valve and the response time of proportional relief valve, solenoid directional control valve and accumulator in order to test if their performance matches the requirements of the constant deceleration braking system. In AMESim, the simulation model of the constant deceleration braking system is built, and by adjusting the parameters of PID, the best braking effection was modeled.Finally, according to theoretical analysis and simulation, the actual conversion device on constant deceleration braking was built. In laboratory, the characteristics of the proportional relief valve and the response time of proportional relief valve, solenoid directional control valve and accumulator was tested then and the results were confirmed to meet the requirements. And the industrial experiment of the constant deceleration braking system was conducted in Taishan Tiandun Mining Machinery, and we can draw the conclusion from the experimental results that the hoist constant deceleration braking conversion system was capable of the requirements of coal industry.
