Along with the power capacity and the rapid increase of nonlinear loads, Power quality deteriorate, thus affecting the power grid security, stable, efficient operation. With the amount of reactive power grid more and more serious, reactive power can also have an impact on power grid stability and an important factor in energy loss, so reasonable and effective solution to reduce the reactive power quality deterioration to ensure quality of supply has become an important issue.Currently the most widely used method of reactive power compensation is the appropriate location to configure power capacitors for reactive power compensation, but, with the distribution network in the increase of harmonic sources, the impact of harmonics on power capacitors are also increasingly. In considering the harmonics of the power capacitor under the impact of harmonics can not be ignored, mainly in the harmonic current in the capacitor increases, the dielectric loss and metal loss will increase dramatically, causing overheating or damage to the power capacitor. For this series of problems, we conduct in-depth theoretical analysis and experimental research.First, this paper describes the development of reactive power compensation history and relevant principles, the serious situation in the harmonic reactive power compensation has been studied, based on the completion of this condition in the harmonic reactive power compensation controller design. The choice of the microprocessor select high-performance 32-bit ARM chip as the core controller, use the chips of ATT7022B measurement parameters to achieve the measurement, and measured by original data ATT7022B harmonic analysis of the problem. Switching Power Capacitor selection can inhibit the "surges" cause by "switching oscillating" of switch module.Second, The software design of embedded Real-time Operating SystemμC/OS-Ⅱplatform, described in the ARM’s transplant system, the division of tasks and scheduling and programming of the task module etc. Controller to control the amount of reactive power as the first vote first cut in accordance with the principles of power capacitors for switching control, and the grid voltage or harmonic content beyond the set range, removal of reactive power compensation capacitors.Finally, The system debugging shows that the controller parameters can be accurately measured on the grid, mean while rapidly switching the capacitor switching carried out showed that the designed reactive power compensation controller can function as intended.
