The Concept Pre-test Of Green Architecture Design Integrating Urban Agriculture

Survival problem has always been one of the important issues which haunt the human sustainable development. According to UN’s prediction, by2050, the world’s population will reach9billion. By2008, the urban population will outnumber the rural population at the first time. Obviously, the21th century will be the century of urbanization, the industrialization advanced the process of urbanization, at the same time, it upgraded the contradiction between the human habitation and natural resource. The city ecological system’s increasing deterioration, from the food crisis to the increasing food mileage then to the extension of ecological footprint, these all show the weakness of the city food system. With the rise of city food movement, city agriculture constantly dwell itself in the city space, and one after another it lead to the innovation and practice of many city space theories. And the innovation of the agricultural technology also induce the continuous attempts of the combination between agriculture and the space of architecture. From Paolo Soleri’s arc-ecology to building agriculture integration, then to the Dickson Despommier’s agricultural ecological building, the architecture design which integrate the city agriculture also use its unique design elements to draw the people’s eyeball.Based on the this, the article look the integration of the city agriculture and the city space as the research object and take the eastern city agriculture practice cases as foundation, combine with domestic present situation’s elements and trace to the source of the threefold design concept among architecture, city and technology and tentatively propose a green building design concept which combine with city agriculture. First in a macro layer a whole analysis will be exerted to the design concept, then rely on every specific cases, explore the architectural space pattern which integrate the city agriculture and relative technological supports and take this as foundation, exert the specific design practice. The article has six chapters and exerts the statement in four phases:Phase1:Ensure the design direction of the integration between architecture and agriculture. Start from exploring the social background and tracing to the source of design concept. First, make sure the position of architectural space in the integration between architecture and agriculture, the concept definition of city agriculture etc. Namely the determination of research content. Second, exert the analysis on the domestic and overseas present research situation and movement of the integration between architecture and agriculture, get to know its development rule. At the end, lead to the conclusion of the design concept which contains the integration between architecture and agriculture. This phase contains Chapter1(exordium)and Chapter2(traceability of design concept);Phase2:Make a overall conception about the architecture which is combined with agriculture and think about its concept definition, space definition, element composition and three primary intergrowth needs of the architectural agriculture’s intergrowth pattern. Meanwhile, take a analysis on the three groups of dialectical contradiction in the design concept of the architecture integrated with agriculture. This phase contains Chapter3(The analysis on the concept of the architecture integrated with agriculture);Phase3:Combine with the domestic and overseas practical cases, explore the spatial integration and technological structure which cater to the concept of the architecture integrated with agriculture. The spatial integration talk about more than how to reform for catering to the agriculture’s entrance, it will look the agriculture as an architecture spatial element to absorb in order to create a three-dimension enclosed sense of living and activity which contain agricultural elements and belong to architectural concept. From the three dimensions which is produce, ecology and living to integrate electively, differentiate into many spatial intergrowth patterns:living-producing intergrowth pattern which use as public region; living-producing intergrowth pattern which use as regeneration center; agricultural productive architecture pattern which use as additional function; ecology-producing intergrowth pattern which use as additional function; ecological architecture pattern which use as outer protective structural construction and the pattern which use as the center of the resource’s regeneration and the center of community intercourse. First the technological framework should serve a specific analysis on every technological elements which contain water cycle, energy cycle, nutrition cycle, climatic control and illumination requirement, then to combine with practice, base on the three common architectural styles which are vertical farm, industrial intergrowth and farming residence, analyse its specific technological operation in order to make its technological framework skeleton. This phase contains Chapter4(The integration of spatial patterns on the architecture blended with agriculture) and Chapter5(The technological system framework on the architecture blended with agriculture).Phase4:Summarize the researched design concept of the integrated city agriculture and take efforts to explain it, and take some advices from it in order to enlighten relative theories and the constant practice innovation. This phase contains Chapter6(Conclusion part).The development of the Green Building has always accompany with the double effects of the inner and outer elements, trace to the source of the present ecological architecture concept which can make us to seize the skeleton of the Green Building’s development clearly, get to know about its inner developing trend and at the same time we also expect the agriculture thought will have its specific effect on the architectural theories too, guide the development of the Green Building better and better. The gradual promotion of the urbanization level, for that the city agriculture should be one of the best optional strategies which can solve the city developing problems, its importance should not be neglected, with the agricultural technology’s continuous innovation and the increasing requirement of the architectural development, the architectural space integrated with agriculture will open a brand new window for us.
