Solar unmanned aerial vehicles cruising the longest time up to tens ofmonth, the flight altitude up to tens of meters, the coverage area up totens of kilometers, perform a variety of tasks, and has irreplaceableadvantages of conventional unmanned aerial vehicles. Such vehicle’senergy systems using the electricity that conversion of solar radiation tofor the aircraft.During the day,one part of the power provided by thesolar array supply for the the airborne load and power system, the otherpart is stored in the energy storage battery as power for night flying.Conventional solar unmanned aerial vehicles along the chord to thelaying of few solar cells and the form of connection is also very simpledue to the small form factor, so there is no problem of solar cell’s shapeaffect the solar unmanned aerial vehicles’ aerodynamic shape, and thereis no problem of the curved surface of UAV affect solar array’spower.But,solar unmanned aerial vehicles development direction is largewingspan and large aspect ratio, which will result in the mutual influenceof the solar cell performance and aerodynamic performance, this paperstudy the distributed solar array design and integration technology, highspecific energy storage batteries design techniques and energymanagement design and hardware implementation for solar unmannedaerial vehicles development needs, through design verification and testverification to prove the feasibility of the design method in this article.
