Because of light weight and large carrying limit, steel bridge decks have been widelyused in bridges at home and abroad. Generally, steel bridge decks are connected by weld.It will reduces the safety performance of structure because of the residual stress. While, asan important part of the bridge, the bridge deck are also under cycling load of the vehicleall the time. Therefore, accurate simulation of residual stress of deck plate and analysistheir impact on fatigue strength is of great significance for improving the structuralbearing capacity of steel bridge decks and the safety of steel bridges, and extending ofservice life.In this paper, using ANSYS finite element method(FEM) software, we analyze theresidual stress and fatigue strength of the steel bridge decks which are in different weldingprocess. In this paper, we established the bridge deck model. By compiling APDLlanguage, we analyzed weld residual stress field which is in the different weldingconditions. comparing the distribution of residual stress curve and size changes, we finallycame up with the influence of different welding conditions on welding residual stress field.By reference to a large number of literature, We contrast analyzed analysis method offatigue life of all kinds of steel bridge. Simulation load of fatigue load, confirmation offatigue failure point, the rain flow count method are all evaluate in this paper. Throughanalyzing the actual load simulation on the model, we finally confirmed fatigue damagepoint and fatigue life of the bridge deck both in ideal state which is without welding and indifferent welding process conditions. Through the contrast analysis, we concluded theinfluence of different welding process on the structure life. The simulation in this paper can provide reference for optimization of structure andimprove the welding process, in order to improve the service life of steel Bridges.
