The expansion of the electric power steering system in the domestic market, makeit become the research focus of power steering technology,and at the same time alsocontribute the research and development of EPS controller test-bench. At present,foreign study of EPS system has been relatively mature, occupied more than80%of themarket, and domestic related research is not yet mature. Therefore, break thetechnological monopoly, research and develop high performance of EPS product basedon EPS controller test-bench is urgent and necessary. This paper, take a passenger car asthe research object developing the EPS controller test-bench design, etc.Based on the MATLAB/SIMULINK platform, steering resisting momentsimulation model is established, and the simulation data and real vehicle test data werecompared. Results show that the established simulation model has a good accuracy, andprovides the data source for assist characteristic curve design of EPS controller andmeasurement and control system development of EPS controller test-bench.To verify the accuracy of the EPS controller engineering prototype controlalgorithm and the effect of power control, set up the EPS system test platform, consistof three major components, electric power steering system, steering resisting momentsimulator system and measurement and control system. Measurement and controlsystem as the control part of the test platform, special driver software had beendeveloped using VB software. According to the requirements of the test platformfunction design, the function verification was carried out. Experiment results show thatrealized the real-time and precise control of the measurement and control system forsteering resisting moment simulator, and various functions met the design requirements.Test platform provides the real operating environment for EPS controller development,can complete the EPS controller engineering prototype software development anddebugging, and a number of performance test. Greatly reduces the development costs,and has a certain practical value.Experiment for EPS controller engineering prototype was carried out on theself-developed test platform. Complete the parameter setting of PID control and the testof steering portability. Results show that the designed control strategy has obviouspower effect. On this basis, the calibration test of the EPS controller engineeringprototype was carried out according to industry standards, including power current characteristics, input/output characteristics and functional properties three basicperformance. The results show that each performance evaluation indexes accord withthe enterprise standard. Further to the vehicle test of EPS controller engineeringprototype, complete the test on the way to the steering portability according to thenational standard. Steering portability curve under different working conditions showthat the controller has good power characteristics, and the independent design of EPScontroller test-bench is successful.
