The excavation of pit in downtown areas will be influenced by the around roads,buildings, municipal pipes. During the excavation the safety of pit is not the onlyconcern. it is also necessary to concern its influence on around buildings, especially thesignificant buildings. The safety of pit’s around buildings is becoming more and morewidespread and important problem. This dissertation combining with Shanghai Gubeiwealth Center foundation pit to study the problem. Setting Shenkang Hotel No.1building which around the foundation pit of the Gubei wealth Center as an example topredict settlement by neural network technology. Based on the impact factors to assessthe security. The main work is summarized as follows:○1On the basis of the characteristics of the soft soil areas in Shanghai theinteraction and stress of soil during excavation of foundation pit is studied. The law ofbuildings’ settlement around foundation pit is analyzed during excavation by numericalsimulation.○2Settlement of buildings which around foundation pit is predicted from aspectssuch as depth of pit, monitoring point’s distance from pit edge, cohesion of soil, frictionof soil, weight of soil through BP neural network.○3Based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to assess safety of historicalbuildings around foundation pit, evaluation factors concerning safety are proposed.Then evaluation factors’ weights are analyzed by AHP after classified.○4Combining with Shengkang Hotel No.1building on the west side of ShanghaiGubei wealth Center to predict its settlement during excavation through neural network,compare the prediction and the actual settlement and then assess its safety.Shengkang Hotel No.1building does not appear obvious danger point after theanalysis of all conditions. The building stands B level security status basically and themain structure is not affected. The assessment of the building meets relational safetyregulations. The relevant data of post-construction proved fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation method is reasonable to assess building’s safety that around deep foundationpit. This study could provide the reference for similar foundation pit construction.
