Compared to P-type silicon solar cells, N-type silicon solar cells were regardedas a promising solar cell with high efficiency and low cost due to its long minoritycarrier lifetime and absence of light induced degradation. Aluminium back junctionsilicon solar cell deserves attention for its simple fabrication and economic feasibility.The design optimization of this solar cell is carried out by simulation and a low-costmethod for aluminium back junction preparation is investigated.The physical model of crystalline silicon solar cells with an n++/n/p+structurewas established in the simulation software PC1D. The effect of structure parameterssuch as front surface field, substrate material and back emitter on the outputcharacteristics is studied systematically. Simulation results showed that somecondition had to be satisfied in order to acquire aluminium back junction solar cellswith good performance.
