Tiltrotor aircraft is a new type of aircraft with advantages of both traditional fixed-wing aircraftand helicopter, which is a perfect combination and has a broad application prospects. There are twopylons on both ends of the wings. The pylon with rotor system can implement continuous flightconversion between the helicopter mode and the airplane mode. But there are very complicatedcouplings among the rotor, the pylon and the wing. The aeroelastic stability analysis is very important.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which explains theapplication value and prospects of the tiltrotor aircraft, and summarizes the development and presentresearch situation at home and abroad. The second chapter is the dynamical modeling of full-spantiltrotor. Based on Hamilton principle, a dynamical analysis model for the full-span tiltrotor withfuselage pitch and roll motion in airplane mode is developed by using the multi-body method. Thethird chapter is the aeroelastic stability analysis of full-span tiltrotor. Based on the analysis model inChapter two, the symmetric modes of full-span tiltrotor become unstable before the anti-symmetricmodes of full-span tiltrotor for whirl flutter stability compared to semi-span tiltrotor model. Besides, aparameter study for the stability analysis is developed. The parameters include: the wing stiffness, thepre-sweep angle of wing, mast height, the offset between tilting hinge and the wing elastic axis, thehub pitching stiffness, the length of hub to tilting hinge, rotor speed, the blade pre-cone angle, etc. Thefourth chapter is the work summary of this paper and future prospect of study. In the end of this paper,summary and future trends of research are outlined.At present, there have been a lot of research in the field of the tiltrotor aeroelastic stability atabroad, and even to application stage. In domestic, there has been some research in recent years, butthe research are still in initial stage. The result of this paper can provide some reference to thedynamic research and design of tiltrotor in the future domestically.
