Fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control of aero-engine is studied. Major contentsinclude state variable modeling, measurement parameter selection, gas path analysis,fault tolerant controller of speed system.The method of establishing state variable model by aero-engine nonlinear model forfault diagnosis and fault tolerant control of control system is studied. Three typicalestablishing methods include partial derivation, Least Square Fitting and Particle SwarmOptimization. To investigate the measurement parameter selection problem ofaero-engine, the sensitivity of measurement related to aero-engine performance variationis carried out. Then by the use of Fisher information matrix, a set of optimalmeasurements is obtained. Singular Value Decomposition is employed for fault diagnosiswhere the number of the measurements is less than performance parameter, then systemdimension is reduced, at last health performance estimation is calculated by Kalmanfilters of new reduced-order system.Furthermore the way of fuzzy logic with least square estimation is used for gas pathfault diagnosis. The magnitude and the probability of the performance parameterdeviation are determined. Finally fault tolerant controller with the basis of robustestimator is studied, fault tolerant controller and robust estimator are designed. Thismakes system stable within fault.
