This paper studies aircraft attitude angle estimation based on a single electromagnetic vectorsensor. Under the conditions of the electromagnetic wave information chain between the base stationand the aircraft, the aircraft installs a single electromagnetic vector sensor, receiving the partiallypolarized electromagnetic signal, to obtain the complete electromagnetic information used to estimatethe aircraft attitude angle (roll angle, pitch angle, heading angle), reveals the detection capability ofthe electromagnetic waves in the polarization domain. The main work of this paper is as follows:Firstly, this paper converts the rotation matrix around any vector axis by the right-hand law intothe form of matrix exponential function, which implies that the rotation matrix has at most threedegrees of freedom; evolves the traditional polarization-airspace oriented vector into the singleexponential rotation matrix oriented vector,to facilitate the calculation of the attitude estimation.Secondly, this paper studies MUSIC algorithm on a single electromagnetic vector sensor, proposes the DOA and polarization angle joint parameter estimation algorithm according to the singleexponential rotation matrix oriented vector model. The simulation experiments analyze the validityand accuracy of the algorithm. The proposed algorithm reduces the amount of searching. Finally, according to the conversion relation of coordinate system, this paper transforms theaircraft attitude matrix from the wave frame coordinate system to the geographic coordinate system, estimates the aircraft attitude angle with a single base station or two base stations by the attitudematrix under the geographic coordinate system.Simulation experiments verify that attitude angle estimation algorithm proposed in this papermeets ordinary aircraft attitude angle estimation accuracy requirements.
