A Research Of Methods Of Integrating Zengcheng Greenway In Guangzhou With Landscape Of The Traditional Villages

The greenway has originated in America. It protects the environment, serves as a placefor visitors to go sighting, and protects the cultural sites. Now more and more theories ofgreenway in China has shown up. But no one focus on the integration of greenway andtraditional villages and this paper is to study the integration to make a little advance of thegreenway theories.The greenway makes the traditional villages known by the visitors, increases theincome of the villagers, and pays people’s attention to the protection of traditional villages.In China, after the greenway’s instruction has been built, many visitors went sightingthrough the greenway. Greenway has been a hot spot. Then two years passed by and lessand less people travel through the greenway. The design strategy is not ripe enough so thatthe greenway’s instruction has been deserted.In this paper, the writer researches the integration of greenway and the traditionalvillages and put forward a win-win suggestion that can settle down the problem of scrappyvillages and make the greenway and the traditional villages develops together.The case studied in the paper is a view spot of traditional village on the way of thegreenway in Zengcheng. The greenway in Zengcheng has been the first length of greenwayin Guangdong Province and well equiped. And there are many villages in Zengcheng andthe rural landscape is rich so that rural tourism is the industry of important economy pillarin Zengcheng. The greenway makes sense to the villages and rural tourism.There are six chapters in this paper and there is a conclusion at the end.The first chapter consists of the background, the significance, the frame,the technologyroadmap, and the innovation of the research.In the second chapter the writer makes a summary of the theories about greenway andtraditional villages in preparation for the research.In the third chapter and the forth chapter, the writer put forward a suggestion tointegerate the greenway and traditional villages in two aspects. The first aspect is thestrategy aspect, including the needs of more varieties of users, the functions of thegovernment and local organizations, fund raising and land management. The second aspect is the design aspect, including locla cultural, genius loci, the construct of landscape, and thedesign of infrastructure. These are carried out in the paper.The fifth chapter is the case study. The writer make a research of the view spot Xiaoloubeside the greenway, focusing on the old street in the traditional village. And then the writerconcludes the advantages and the disadvantages of the integration of greenway and thetraditional villages.The six chapter is the last chapter. In this chapter the writer design the view spot againaccording to the integration strategies raised above in order to examine them.At the end, there is a conclusion that describes the significance and the innovation.
