Beam-column joints with end-plate constructed quickly, have reliable mechanicalperformance. It is widely used in steel connections. Node structures affect its mechanicalperformance significantly and is a key factor affecting mechanical performance. Analyzingand verifying the force characteristics of beam-column extended end-plate joints through thetest, finite element analysis, and theoretical analysis.First, the beam-column joints were studied by testing. On the basis of tests, verifying thetest results with the finite element models by ABAQUS. On this basis, using finite elementsoftware to further analyze the influence in different force of the different forms column webstiffeners, end plate stiffener, and end-plate thickness. Focused on comparing the nodeperformance with column web diagonally stiffeners and eccentric diagonal stiffener undersymmetrical load and antisymmetric load. Discussed the reasonable value of the end-platestiffener thickness. Then, according to mechanical characteristics and deformation characteristics ofbeam-column joints with end-plate, extracting an equivalent T-connector composed withbeam flange, end-plate and column transverse stiffeners, column flange, while the beam weband column web is considered as a stiffener of T-type connector. And deduced the theoreticalcalculations equivalent tensile stiffness of T-connector model mentioned in this article. Bycomparing the results with finite element analysis to verify the accuracy and reliability of thecalculation method proposed in this paper. Finally, on the basis of the T-connector model, using the component method derives theinitial rotational stiffness formula of the extended end-plate connections. It shows that thecalculated accurately and effectively by contrast with the finite element analysis in this article. And validated the moment rotation model by the end-plate joints in this paper.
