This study focus on the research of some industrial waste residue that is harmful to theenvironment and costs much for Secondary use, searching for method to use it in asphaltpavement as modifier or additive. This study aims at using the industrial waste residue toimprove the pavement performance and resource recycling of waste materials, it has animportant practical significance for sustainable development of China’s economy and easingthe pressure on the environment.The main content of the study is the applicability of industrial waste residue in asphaltmixture. Modified mechanism and the basic properties are studied to analyse the key factorsthat effect asphalt modifier process; Modification process is studied though experiment tofind the proper parameters of the modification process. Then the best modification process isused to analyse the affect of industrial waste residue quantity to modified asphalt.Based on the results obtained, the performance of asphalt mixture are tested byexperiments using industrial waste residue as modifier or additive to analyse the affect ofdifferent methods and parameters to the performance of asphalt mixture.The results showed that: under the condition of certain amount, the industrial wasteresidue can be used as modifier. It can improve the high temperature property of asphalt andimpair the low temperature property. Using the industrial waste residue as additive in acertainrange can improve the the high temperature stability and moisture susceptibility of asphaltmixture. The study drew a conclusion that it’s feasible to use the industrial waste residue inasphalt pavement, it can both improve the pavement performance and recycle the waste. Thestudy has great economic and social benefit and the industrial waste residue has broadapplication prospect.
