Simply-supported continuous box girder bridge has been widely used in highwayconstruction projects. Over time, climate and environmental factors causes the deteriorationof structural materials. Meanwhile,the quality defects design and construction as well asvehicle overloading and other factors, lead a lot of damage to bridge, resulting in reducingstructural load capacity, durability and the safety of the bridge.In this paper, based on summarizing the current domestic structural form, commondiseases and reinforcement methods of continuous simply supported bridges, bridgeinspection is carried in a5×20m simply supported continuous beam bridge with doublebearing and ordinary steel continuous under heavy traffic. The space finite model isestablished to analyze the carrying capacity of original design conditions and current statusof the projects. Meanwhile, the ABAQUS finite element system is used in simulation theforce state of original design conditions and current status of the projects in order to analyzethe area of stress fracture of the bridge and the results of FEA analysis are compared to theresults of bridge inspection. The force state of single bearing ordinary steel continuous,double bearing prestressed continuous, and single bearing prestressed continuous wasanalyzed and the approach of reinforcement of the bridge is researched based the results ofFEA simulation and bridge inspection. Finally,by comparing the actual application beforerelying on engineering bridge and engineering reinforcement, then evaluating the bearingcapacity of bridge reinforcement.In this paper, the research results have been successfully applied to support projects,practical application results showed that: in this paper, the method is guiding role for such abridge.
