Since Wangcang East River Bridge in Sichuan province was built in1990, the CFST(Concrete filled steel tube) arch bridge has been widely used and got rapidly development inour country in the recent20years. As a new kind of bridge, rules and regulation about theCFST remain to improve.2008’s Wenchuan earthquake causes a serious damage on thebridge, which were widely spread in Sichuan Province. Therefore, the systematic study on thedynamic and static performance of CFST arch bridge has great practical significance.With a large number of doctor papers, master thesis and literatures, this paper summarizedthe development history and research status of concrete filled steel tubular structure. It alsodiscussed two basic problems about structural stability and probed into the methods ofcalculate the safety factor.The effect of structural stability has a particular effect on large span structure, and tosome extent it plays a key role to the whole structure stability. This paper established finiteelement model of the bridge and analyzed the stability for different stages. This paperestablished four different modes to analyze the effect of deck to the stability of the wholestructure. The paper analyzed seismic response of structure with two diffident ways. The oneis response spectrum analysis method. The other one is dynamic process method. At last,through made a contrast about the two different methods gave a conclusion for this paper.
