Simply supported composite girder bridge has been widely used in the field of bridgeconstructions due to a simple structure, high strength, light weight, high degree of factoryproduction, fast construction speed etc. Infrastructure Development in China’s nationalconditions, the promotion of research and application of steel plate girder bridge willfacilitate the development of the national economy, generating significant economic andsocial benefits. As a result of our unit system, bridge load rating, specification preparation isdifferent from other countries, it results that simply supported composite girder bridge isvery unique in design, can not copy the experience of other countries. To obtain areasonable cross-section of simply supported composite girder bridge, theoretical analysisand numerical calculation of simply supported composite girder bridge were studied in thisthesisThe following research tasks were conducted in this thesis:1.The basic mechanics behavior of simply supported composite girders with I-shapedcross section, including bending, shear and torsion bearing capacity, were analysed in thispaper, and the summarized structural design methods can be used in simply supportedcomposite girder bridges with I-shaped cross section.2. The calculate formula of reasonable girder depth in simply supported steel girdersand simply supported composite girders was derived, and the variable the distance betweentwo girders, span of bridge, and a large number of different parameters of girders wasapplied in designing the real bridges, then more rules and better design guidanceexperiences were obtained in this calculation.3. Based on the structural design of a reasonable cross-section, a finite element modelof the live load composite beam was set up by the program Midas, and the structuralanalysis results show that the stress and stiffness of composite beams in construction andnormal service state are sufficient to meet the design specifications and that has appropriatematerial strength reserve, indicating that this desinging method of the live load compositebeam has a good application value.
