Many countries treat PEV (pure electric vehicles) as a long-term development goal withthe significant merits of non-pollution and zero-emission. However, the limited driving rangeof PEV has puzzled all researchers, and directly slows down the process of product. PEVconsist of energy storage system, driving system and vehicle control system, and energymanagement is the key technology of vehicle control strategy, which rationality is quiteimportant to PEV product. This paper do a depth research of PEV energy management and Vehicle control strategy. The main tasks are as follows. First the paper briefly describes the general situation ofresearch and domestic and international research of PEV. Then the paper analyses PEVstructure and proposes the vehicle performance goals. After that the paper choose the batteryand in-wheel motor on the basis of the dynamic performance goal, designing the drivingcontrol strategy and the vehicle energy management strategy, including generation torquecontrol under brake energy recovery mode and motor torque control under non-brake energyrecovery mode. The paper focuses on the braking energy mode under the energymanagement,in addition under the former mode, distribute and calculate the brake force, andECE-based recovery strategy analysis. The last we establish the energy management model inMATLAB/simulink,and making a secondary development with the existing vehicle model inADVISOR, taking the joint simulation under different condition. The simulation resultshowed that the selected in-wheel motors and lead-acidbatteries could meet the designrequirement. On the base of above, we verify the energy management strategy preliminary, optimize the energy management strategy and contrast the energy recovery ratio. This papercompares the vehicle endurance before and after optimization, verifies the rationality of thesimulation.
