The renewal and reconstruction of spacecraft systems are taking place with thedevelopment of science and technology. The spacecrafts become increasingly large andcomplex, and there are a lot of coupling between and inside different subsystems. Inorder to improve the safety and reliability of the spacecrafts, and to ensure theirsuccessful completion of in-orbit missions, this paper proposed the Health ManagementAlgorithm of Spacecraft according to the characteristics of spacecraft itself. The basicof the algorithm is Multi-Layer and Multi-Module Directed Graph. The extensibility,reusability and validity of the proposed algorithm are verified by several systemsimulations.Firstly, this paper analyzed and classified the existing Health ManagementAlgorithm, and the existing algorithms have been divided into four groups. Aftercomparing the advantages and disadvantages of these four kinds of algorithms, thispaper found a more suitable algorithm in accordance with the special features ofspacecrafts. To design a specially adapted spacecraft health management system, tostudy the possible failures in spacecrafts is needed. Then this paper has done statisticalanalysis of history quantitative data and possible failures of spacecraft.Secondly, to offer separated health management of subsystems in accordance withtheir special features, and also the health management of the whole system level, theHealth Management Algorithm proposed in this paper is divided into subsystem andintegral two levels. And then this paper proposed the overall design pattern and systemframe of the Health Management System, according to the different demand andconnection of the two levels. Then this paper proposed the Multi-Layer andMulti-Module Directed Graph Model of the spacecraft, according to the special featuresof the spacecraft and the design concept of the Health Management System, this modelis the basic of the Health Management Algorithm proposed in this paper.Finally, this paper gave the concrete Health Management Algorithm based on theDirected Graph Model, including the fault diagnosis method, fault prediction methodand health assessment method. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified byelectrical power system simulation, attitude control system simulation, and faultdiagnosis simulation based on telemetering and telecontrol system of actual spacecraft.Then the extensibility and reusability of the proposed algorithm are proved through thesimulation of the subsystem and integral two levels.
