The steel reinforced concrete column is an important part of the steel reinforcedconcrete frame structure, it plays a significant role in the seismic behavior of the wholeSRC structure. I-section steel and H-section steel SRC column are mainly used in theactual projects now, and the research work on the steel reinforced concrete column ismainly about these common steel section SRC column, while there is little researchwork on the new type steel reinforced concrete column. With the development ofconstruction industry, there are more requirements to the structure than before, andcommon steel reinforced concrete column can not meet the requirement of actualprojects in some conditions. So the research work on new type steel reinforced concretecolumn is badly needed now. This article studied two new section types of steelreinforced concrete columns, analyzed their seismic behavior and carrying capacity, andcompared them with a traditional steel reinforced concrete column. The new types ofsteel reinforced concrete columns showed better performance comparing to the commonsteel reinforced concrete column, the primary study work includes:Simulated the steel reinforced concrete columns with the finite element analysissoftware ABAQUS, analyzed their seismic performance, and compared their hysteresiscurve, skeleton curve and ductility data with the test results in order to verify therationality and feasibility of the ABAQUS model founded in this article. On the basis ofapplicability, the article studied the influence of types of the steel, the axial compressiveratio, steel web thickness, stirrup disposition ratio and the angle of the load to theseismic performance of the new types of steel reinforced concrete columns. The methods of normal section compressive capacity calculation of the steelreinforced concrete columns (the intensity superposition method and the limitequilibrium method) in the two current steel reinforced concrete procedures werecompared in this artile. Based on the intensity superposition method, according to thedifferent influence provided by the influencing factors to the bearing capacity of thenew types of steel reinforced concrete columns, the author put forward a normal sectionbearing capacity calculation method that suitable for the new type of steel reinforcedconcrete column, and verified it.
