With the nationwide network and the construction of competitive electric powermarkets, as well as the promulgation and implementation of various national policies, it isfaced with new challenges to achieve the optimal decision of the power system securityand economy operation. Under the new situation of more and more uncertaintiesappearing in the power system, it is extremely important to balance among power systemsafety, economy, energy saving emission reduction and other many aspects, in order toguarantee the security and economic coordination optimization operation of the powersystem. Therefore, this paper researches the security and economy operation of powersystem considering the load uncertainty. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, the robust multi-objective of bacterial colony chemotaxis(MOBCC)optimization method considering uncertainty is studies. The evolution process of MOBCCis analyzed and the performance of the algorithm is improved. On this basis, this paperproposes a MOBCC algorithm for searching robust optimization solutions, and applies itto the multi-objective optimization problem for dealing with uncertain factors.Then, to achieve the maximum security and economic efficiency in the electric powermarket environment, with the constraint of network loss, a new power systemoptimization model with the security and economic coordination has been establishedwhich considering the system generation cost and system equilibrium. And the improvedMOBCC algorithm is used to optimize the model. With the security classification, theoptimal security and economic region is obtained according to the farthest point to definethe initial round of incremental algorithm(FIIA). Best and worst evaluation indicators forsecurity and economy are defined to master the power grid operation state. The simulationresult shows that the proposed method performs well in both security and economy ofpower system.Finally, a robust model is proposed considering load uncertainty in the security andeconomic operation of the power system. And the robust optimal solutions are obtained byusing the robust MOBCC algorithm, solving problems of different load forecasting error. In order to avoid the blindness of the decision makers to choose optimal solutions, themethod of technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS) based ongrey correlation is used to calculate the comprehensive optimal solutions. Thus, theeconomic region considering load uncertain is given, which can quantify the optimalboundary of generator output. And the adjustment strategy for the actual operation pointcan be made via the distance relationship between the region and the actual operationpoint.
