Ultra-capacitor is a new environmentally friendly energy storage device, and it hasmany advantages, such as large specific power, quickly charge/discharge, long cycle life,and so on. After combining the battery and ultra-capacitor together, the storage devicenot only avoids poor capacity of the battery, but also avoids less energy storage of theultra-capacitor. So the synergic energy storage device can improve the dynamic propertyof pure electric motor and without reduce the driving range.Synergic energy storage device for pure electric motor was the object of study inthis paper, the main details in this paper are as follows:①The merit and demerit of main storage devices was analysis which are mountedin the pure electric motor at present, next, the operation principle and performanceparameter of lithium battery, ultra-capacitor and DC/DC were deeply analysis, and thenthe basic structure was analysis, after the comparison and analysis of the synergicenergy storage device, and then adopt the device that was the best comprehensiveperformance, at last, the simulation model about the synergic energy storage device wasestablished.②The operation modes were made for the synergic energy storage device, and theoverall control target was proposed according to the control target, then the controlstrategy was developed, such as time-velocity control strategy, current constraint controlstrategy and the fuzzy control that was based on the two kinds of control strategy aredescribed before. At last, the control flow chart was developed.③After the comparison of performance about motor and control device, the typeof driving motor was decided, and the parameters about the driving motor were selectedaccording to the demands about the pure electric vehicle. Owing to the dynamicperformance and driving range was influenced by the parameters of the synergic energystorage device, so qualitative and quantitative analysis was done to determine theparameters, and the parameters were optimized after the analysis.④According to the synergic energy storage device, selected operation principleand corresponding control strategy, the simulation model was established by thesimulation software Matlab/Simulink, at last, the acceleration, high speed driving cycleand the urban driving cycle were done with the optimized parameters. The simulationresult proved the correctness of the synergic energy storage device and relevant control strategy.
