The development of indoor navigation technology can effectively make up the disadvantages ofgeneral space navigation technology in indoor environment. An indoor micro inertial/visualnavigation system is studied deeply, then the basic design of indoor navigation computer platformbased on MEMS inertial sensors and camera device is studied, and at last each independent module’saccuracy and reliability of this navigation computer is analyzed.By analyzing the performance of the navigation computer, a circuit design scheme by usingSTM32F4series ARM MCU is presented, based on the core processor of STM32M4MCU and itsabundant peripheral resources, the data collection of all parts of sensor module is completed, then bycalling the inside DSP core, the data analysis and processing of inertial navigation algorithm, imagealgorithm and other related tasks are achieved.To meet the designed system’s requirements of small volume and low power, some suitablesensor chips are chosen for navigation computer, navigation computer’s function is realized by usingthe inter-chip resources mostly, thus can also reduce the volume expansion caused by external circuitdesign. To ensure the navigation computer image acquisition flexibility, external circuit interface forthe camera module connection is designed. At the same time to expand the scope of application, GPSfunction module, TF card data storage module and wireless data transmission module are alsoembedded for this navigation computer.Based on the navigation computer’s hardware platform, some function drives for each part of thehardware resources is designed, by using the communication bus and inter-chip recourses, thecomputer processor can control and dispose all kinds of sensors’data smoothly and effective.At last, function test is taken for the navigation computer, and the result shows that theperformance of each module meets system’s basic functional requirements.
