The reliability and durability test of auto parts has become the key technology in the process ofautomobile research and development. The test using indoor road simulator can reduce R&D costsand shorten the test period. It’s an effective means to speed up the R&D process and improve theperformance of automobile. The paper, taking Jiangsu province science and technology support plan-industrial project as the background which is named in Research and development of6-dof parallelplatform for automobile suspension test, studies a kind of parallel road simulator.The traditional road spectrum information is tested in a specific field which leads to the largeincrease in research and development costs. The paper, based on GB/T7031-1986, analyzes themathematical model and characteristics of road roughness and puts forward three kinds of methods togenerate the time domain signal of road roughness. The signal will be used in road spectrumrepresentation experiment later.According to the requirements of automobile suspension test, this paper proposes the overallscheme. A wheel of the automobile is placed at the center of the upper platform of road simulator,then automobile suspension test is completed through the simulating displacement and forcegenerated by road simulator. The linear actuator is chosen the drive mechanism of each leg, and themotion control system consists of IPC, motion control card and servo system.The paper mainly introduces the motion control card which is the most important part of the roadsimulator control system. A six-axis motion control card based on DSP and MCX312is designed toachieve the accurate position and posture control. The paper details the hardware design at first,including the interface of DSP and three MCX312s, decoding circuit and interrupt processing circuitin CPLD, communication and peripheral circuit, etc. Secondly details the software design, includingthe initialization program, functional library program, communication program, IPC Man-MachineInterface, etc. Each circuit is completed in the software of Altium Designer. The functions of eachmodule and its stability are verified by the corresponding tests.Finally, combined with the C level road roughness generated by harmonic superposition method,and using the designed road simulator, successfully realized the road spectrum reappearance test withlimited conditions in the laboratory.
