Planetary gear transmission has the characteristics of large transmission ratio, strong carryingcapacity, high torque mass ratio, compact structure, high transmission efficiency, and otheradvantages. Therefore it is widely used in machinery, shipbuilding, aviation, and other transmissionfield. The vibration of system can cause noise and dynamic load, affecting system reliability, servicelife, operating environment, and other key factors. The key problem can be well solved through thesystem error and modification research. In this paper, microscopic parameters of the system arefurther researched.A translation-torsional coupling nonlinear dynamic model of herringbone planetary gear trainwas presented. The model considers time-varying mesh stiffness, error incentives and so on. Theerrors of all components equivalent mesh error are deduced. The system movement differentialequation was derived. Through solving of the dynamics equation by Fourier series method, thetransmission error of the train was acquired.The errors of each gear acting alone and common affecting the transmission error of the systemis analyzed. The errors and the early phases of each gear changing alone and common affecting theamplitude of transmission error of the system is analyzed. The early phases of error are matched underthe particular condition and the error value. The errors and the early phases of each gear are matchedunder the given the amplitude of transmission error of the system.A translation-torsional coupling nonlinear dynamic model which contained the modificationparameters of herringbone planetary gear train was presented.The formula of modification incentivewas analyzed and deduced. The system movement differential equation was derived. The impact ofthe straight line and parabolic modification parameters on the amplitude of system transmission errorwas researched.According to the minimum amplitude of system transmission error, the optimummodification parameters were acquired. At the same time, the amplitude of the system transmissionerror before and after modification were contrasted under different rotational speed. The modificationfeasible region under the double working condition is studied.Based on MATLAB programming language, the software of the research on the herringbone gearplanetary gear transmission system is developed, which convenients to research the error and profilemodification of the herringbone gear planetary gear transmission system.
