The static aerodynamic coefficient curve towards is directly related to the wind load,when the static aerodynamic coefficient curve flattens, the effect of wind load on the structureis smaller. Studies have shown that: the static aerodynamic coefficient is closely related to thegalloping stability, buffeting response and the vortex-excited response. but there is few studyon the relationship between static aerodynamic coefficient and flutter stability. This paper willstudy about the relationship between the static aerodynamic coefficient and the flutter stability,and apply the relationship to evaluate the bridge flutter stability of typical sections and theiradvantages and disadvantages of wind-resistance measure.The test will establish the relationship between the static aerodynamic coefficient and theflutter stability based on the quasi-steady theory, then we can analysis the impact of staticaerodynamic coefficient to the flutter aerodynamic stiffness and aerodynamic damping, thuswe can come to a conclusion about the relationship between static aerodynamic coefficientand flutter stability. And through the analysis of flutter mechanism, we can concluded the keyflutter aerodynamic damping of bridge structure. Through the relationship between the staticaerodynamic coefficient and the flutter stability, we can get the flutter parameter used to judgethe flutter stability of the typical section and to evaluate advantages and disadvantages ofwind-resistance measure.Finally, the test select several typical sections of long-span Bridges, including the truss section(Liujiaxia Bridge), recently closed box section (Humen Bridge), the central slotted section(Xihoumen Bridge, the Gangzhuao Bridge) and the pedestrian rope bridge (Tianmeng ropebridge), and we use the static aerodynamic coefficient to judge the flutter stability of thetypical section and to evaluate advantages and disadvantages of wind-resistance measure.
