The paper bases on the actual situation to conduct research on highway bridge pilefoundation in loess gully region under the action of surcharges. Through theoretical analysisand numerical simulation experiment, analyzes its vertical load transfer law and load-bearingcharacteristics under different length-diameter ratio, position of pile foundation, gradient ofslope and surcharge.1. Through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation experiment show that theessence of which effect the bearing capacity of pile foundation under the action of surchargesis the coupled effect of soil around piles of the uncoordinated changes between shear stressand shear strain change which caused by the action of surcharges and the pile lateral soil losseffect. Bases on the optimization of the shear displacement method and calculation principleof negative skin friction resistance multilayer soil, it puts forward the analytical solutionformula of pile bearing capacity and settlement calculation of the surcharge of pile and themiddle of slope which under the action of surcharges.2. Through numerical simulation experiment, it analyzes the influence of stack soillayer’s thickness, the slope of gully, pile-diameter and pile-length to different surcharge loadof pile. It puts forwards corresponding engineering design suggestions for each influencefactor. And then, it puts forwards a reasonable pile length can reduce the negative influence ofstack to the bearing capacity of pile foundation.3. By using a prediction model based on GA-BP neural network, it puts forward aproceed optimum design for the bearing capacity of pile foundation under the action ofsurcharges and a reasonable pile length which meet the requirements of bearing capacity andpile load effects. Research results will provide a solid theoretical basis for the design andconstruction of highway bridge pile foundation in loess gully region under the action ofsurcharges.
