Large low speed two stroke marine diesel engine have the characteristics of highefficiency, good performance and well per-cylinder capability, which make it the darling ofthe modern shipping industry. And the research has been a hot issue in the field. Researchon it will do good to improving its power, fuel economy, emission performance and accuraterunning parameters in theory and engineering application. So, the article use a large lowspeed two stroke marine diesel engine as basis, and use UG-NX software to establish itsthree dimensional model and AVL FIRE software to research how inlet temperature, inletpressure, injection advanced angle, injection duration, spray oil, speed and combustionchamber influence its working process and effect law, the research will do as a theory guidefor design of large low speed two stroke marine diesel engine.Firstly, create simulation model, using UG-NX to establish a cylinder inner space’sthree dimensional structure and save it as x.stl format. Then import the x.stl format model toAVL FIRE software, and create a structure mesh of the model through FIRE’s pretreatmentpart named FEP, after the mesh created, check the quality of the grid until it mechengineering application.Secondly, set boundary and initial conditions for the mesh, present it and calculate, after calculation finished, the analyze is focused on cylinder mean pressure, meantemperature, NO and Soot. Finally, change the parameters like inlet air temperature, inlet air pressure, fuelinjection timing, load, fuel injection duration, speed and combustion chamber structure onlyto study how the marine diesel engine working progress altered. After calculation finished, load the result and study how every parameter change works on cylinder mean pressure, mean temperature, NO emission and Soot emission in combustion progress. These resultswill be a reference and guidance for the parameter determination and optimized in large lowspeed two stroke marine diesel engine design.
