The digitization of guidance and control system in rotary missile is one of the mostimportant trends of the development of man portable air defense missiles (MANPAD) inthe future. This thesis mainly focuses on the guidance and control design methods tosatisfy the requirements for the digitization of single-channel controlled rotary missiles. The main contents include the following four aspects:1. Establishing a kinetic model for the single-channel controlled rotary missile. To getthe kinetic model, fully taking the characteristics that the missile body is rotating aroundthe axis of the missile body into account is important. One of the solutions is to convertthe body coordinates to the quasi-body coordinates. Considering that the rotationalinertia of the missile longitudinal axis is small compared to the other axis, the equationcan be simplified accordingly. Additionally, we can derive the transfer function betweenthe overload commands and missile motion parameters in order to establish a basis forthe design of guidance and control systems.2. Analyzing the process of producing the control force to guide the missile andmodeling the guidance loop of rotary missiles with a pair of relay-rudder. Designing themissile body stabilization system based on PID control method which is easy toengineering realize.3. Designing a forward offset system for attacking targets based on Kalman filteringtheory. Currently, subject to the fact that passive infrared seeker can’t provide enoughmeasurement information, most man portable air defense missiles use proportionalnavigation law plus forward offset to guide the missile to the target entity rather than theinfrared center. The Kalman filtering theory can real-time estimate the forward offset soas to improve the guidance accuracy. Based on Kalman filtering theory, we can alsoadvance the design of navigation law and anti-interference technology.4. Establishing a Matlab/Simulink model of guidance and control system for rotarymissiles. This model which involves all parts of the model in rotary missiles establishedin this paper is a complex dynamic system. This simulation model can clearly indicatethe relationship between the various physical quantities and provide reference for thedesign of guidance and control systems in rotary missiles.
