As known to all, oil takes an important position in our social life. And forthis reason, exploring it efficiently has become an important research topic. Withthe advent of submersible screw pump, the objective to enhance oil recovery canbe achieved in some extent. Submersible motor is the power source of screwpump. The optimization design of the motor is an important way to improve thesystem efficiency. The submersible motor is a three-phase asynchronous motorwhich used in the oil well, its structure is segmented. There are stabilizingbearing fixing among the rotor segments and non-magnetic copper ringsseparating stator segments.In this article, electromagnetic properties of submersible motor are differentfrom electromagnetic properties of ordinary asynchronous motor, which isdecided by slender structure of submersible motor. The traditional motor designprogram should be improved, when submersible motor is designed. The variableswhich affect performances of motors should be chosen, which has the strongestimpact performance for submersible motor could be optimization variable. Theheight of stator slot, width of stator slot, groove radius of rotor, core length,conductor number of each slot, the length of magnetic separation, gap length areoptimization variable, Selection method is based on chute design principles,which are obtained through calculating and updating end-leakage reactance andmagnetic separation leakage reactance. In addition, the selection methods alsoinclude the loss characteristics of oil film between stator and rotor andmechanical loss characteristics. The ant colony optimization algorithm is arelatively new heuristic algorithm, the essence of algorithm is discrete.According to optimization variables that have been selected, the optimizationdesign of the motor is a mixed discrete problem. Therefore, the basic ant colonyalgorithm should be made continuous and self-adaptive improvement, and should be optimized by the hybrid search algorithm. Aiming to the characteristics of thesubmersible motor, motor efficiency is selected as the optimization function,meanwhile, the parameters such as power factor, starting torque multiplies,maximum torque multiples, starting current multiples and heat load are selectedas constraints condition, the mathematical model of the submersible motor hasbeen established for electromagnetic optimization design, and C languagealgorithm has been written.Finally, two-pole submersible motor with outside diameter of114mm iscalculated by using this program, and effectiveness of the improved ant colonyalgorithm is proved.
