Martha Schwartz is a famous American landscape designer and artist, she is called as a pioneers in the field of landscape design. There are so many attentions from the world focus on Martha Schwartz’s eclectic artistic style and her challenge to the traditional landscape world, no matter from what aspect, the discussions of Martha Schwartz’s art aesthetic in landscape have never been stopped. People often interpret works of Martha Schwartz from a wide range of art, but it is difficult to classify her work into a particular style of art field. Modern artists are willing to use new ways to express their unique aesthetic to perform their particular perspective and their own unique artistic ideas, thereby creating some distinctive personal style works.The discussion and analysis about Martha Schwartz’s subjective thinking in creating landscape works with arts which based on objective of psychoanalytic theory,should be the best interpretation to her aesthetic ideology context and also the best way to understand the art form in her work.In this paper, Lacan’s psychoanalytic theory as the theoretical basis, there is a depth analysis focus on Martha Schwartz’s art aesthetic ideology from the research of her inner construction in her landscape works. In the perspective of Lacan’s psychoanalytic theory, Martha Schwartz’s landscape works are like an "image" of her, the image not only presented the outline of things in addition to aesthetics and functionality in the form of a general sense, but also shows the soul of the designer The image in Lacan’s theory is just an imaginary thing,, not a real exist object. To Martha Schwartz, her landscape works just her own projection of her self-image. Works in different periods reflect her self-image in different periods, and each work showed her current recognition of her self-image, also was a distillation of her repressed desires.The conclusion of analysis on Martha Schwartz’s art aesthetic ideology in her landscape works by Lacan’s theory are:1. The aesthetic ideas of art expressed in Martha Schwartz’s landscape works are actually a contemporary social, human, language symbol, culture sublimation and projection, embody the spirit of time and culture. Her aesthetic ideas of art in her works are driven by human society and culture, and expressed the aesthetic ideas in social.2. Works in different periods reflect her self-image in different periods, and each work is a distillation and projection of her self-image.
