In the world of today, solar energy was one of the chief areas of renewableenergy development, which was mainly used for photovoltaic power generation. In theprocess of developing photovoltaic power generation system, experimenting with thephotovoltaic cell simulator instead of real photovoltaic cells can greatly shorten thedevelopment cycle, reduce development costs, improve research efficiency and thecreditability of results. Therefore, the photovoltaic cell simulator ha d become one ofthe important research contents in the field of photovoltaic power generation.According to its equivalent circuit, this paper elaborat ed the working principle ofphotovoltaic cells and introduced its engineering mathematics model. Using theengineering mathematics model, the simulatio n model of photovoltaic cells wasestablished in the MATLAB. Through the simulation model, the output V-I, V-Pcharacteristics of photovoltaic cells under standard and general test conditions weresimulated. Analyzing the effect of light intensity and envi ronmental temperature onthe output characteristics of photovoltaic cells laid the foundation for the laterresearch on the simulator system.In this paper, an experiment platform of the photovoltaic cell simulator wasdesigned by using the TMS320F2812chip of TI Company as the controller. Its maincircuit adopted BUCK topology. This paper introduced the working principle of thesimulator system’s hardware circuit in detail, completed the parameter calculation anddevice selection. According to design requirements of the hardware circuit, softwaredesign of the system was finished. In addition, the flow charts of primary programswere also given in this thesis.In this paper, after anatomizing several control algorithms commonly used inthe photovoltaic cell simulator, their shortcomings were been poi nted out. Aiming atthe deficiencies of traditional control algorithm s, this article researched the fuzzycontrol algorithm based on fuzzy theory. The control algorithm treated the loadcurrent of the photovoltaic cell simulator and the photovoltaic cell reference current’sdifference and difference variation as two input variables of the fuzzy controller. Thefuzzy controller’s output was the duty ratio increment of the main circuit. By meansof changing the main circuit’s duty ratio, the photovoltaic cell simulator’s workingstate was adjusted and its working point gradually approached the photovoltaic cell’s reference point, so as to realize the simulation of photovoltaic cell s’ outputcharacteristics.In order to verify the effectiveness of the fuzzy control algorithm, this paperestablished a MATLAB simulation circuit and an experiment platform of thephotovoltaic cell simulator. Through MATLAB simulation and platform experiments,the fuzzy control algorithm’s static characteristic and dynamic characteristic weretested, and compared with the traditional control algorithm s. The experimental datawas been analysed in detail. The experimental results showed that the fuzzy controlalgorithm proposed in this paper can simulate the output characteristics ofphotovoltaic cells under various environmental conditions. And, it was better than thetraditional control algorithm in tracking speed, accuracy and stability.
