Nowadays, energy-saving and environmental protection has become the keymeasure to speed up the construction of environmental-friendly and resource-savingsociety. The Ground Source Heat Pump has wide development prospects as anenergy conservation and environmental-friendly technology, has been widely used athome and abroad. However, due to the high initial cost and unconspicuousenergy-saving effect in some projiects, it’s very crucial to optimize the design ofGround Source Heat Pump Systems. This paper mainly study the following:Firstly,introducing the conditions of shallow geothermal energy resources in theNorthern Plain of Hunan Province, summing up the application characteristicsconditions of various kinds of ground source heat pump, and making the suitableevaluations on the application of ground source heat pump in this region.Secondly, based on the principle of dynamic energy consumption analysis, DeSTis applied in this paper to simulate all-year hourly dynamic load of the Furong officebuilding in Changde, analyzing the load characteristics of the building affecting theoperation of ground heat exchanger on the basis of Changde climate and two types ofconstruction. The attention should be given to annual heat balance and partition set ofunderground pipe systems in the design process.The application of hybrid ground-coupled heat pump system with cooling toweras supplement is introduced based on the heat balance,and several appropriatesolutions are propsed to mitigate the effect of heat accumulation effect in the soil. Thecharacteristics of outdoor buried pipe system including forms, connection systemdesign and the design points to the outdoor side of the pipe system are introduced.Finally, a simple analysis for the ground source side partition intermittent operationdesign is made.The simplification in the water supply and drainage network system is putforward to simplify the vertical ground pipe network system. The hydraulic losses ofa single pipe or a single loop are analysed through the aspects of pipe type,diameterand depth. The hydraulic problems are analysed with Pipe Flow Expert software, andthe results are verified by a ground source heat pump project in Changde. And someimprovement methods can be concluded by analyzing the results of hydrauliccalculation to keep hydraulic balance and flow balance.I hope this paper could provide some theoretical basis and engineeringapplication value for the research on optimization design of ground sourceheat pumpsystem in the Northern Plain of Hunan Province and even the whole hot summer andcold winter area.
