As problems that energy shortage and environment pollution become bad day and day, clean energy such as tidal, solar, especially wind power these has been considerable development. Among them, wind power has become the primary choice for the development of clean energy, because the wind power is the richest, started relatively early, and has mature technology. In recent years, the proportion of wind power in power grid power increasing, the influence of wind power on the power system can not be ignored. This article based on the actual situation in Hunan power grid, quantitative analysised the effect of ability of peak load regulation when large wind power access to the grid.First of all, this article provides an overview of the effect of peak regulation when wind power access to grid, and characteristics of peak regulation of other kinds of power, and present research situation domestic and overseas. And then, introduced the principle and calculation method for Power System Simulation software. We need to analysis the effect of the grid when wind power access to the grid in the future, so application of Grey Prediction of GM (1,1) load forecasting model has been used. And we improve this model, made better predictions in the range of effects. Then, aim at random, unpredictable characteristics of wind and different effection on the peak regulation caused by wind power, we established a wind power output scenario analysis model and propose a scenario the importance of indicators, describes the importance to the peak regulation caused by random variations of wind power. Due to the advantages for rich water resources in Hunan province, we propose a wind and hydro power coordination suitable for low-water seasons, and another suitable for high-water seasons. Through simulation run in the actual boundary conditions in2015in Hunan power grid, the effectiveness of the policies above has been verified. And then the surplus capacity of peak load regulation of Hunan power grid in2015has been quantitative analysised when the wind power integrated.
