Power transmission rely on overhead transmission lines. Because transmission lines distributed over a broad area, which has complicated terrain and harsh natural environment, power lines and tower accessories are exposed in the wild in the long-term, so that external forces may cause branches, falling objects and other objects hit overhead lines, finally bring power safety influence and electricity loss; in addition, in accidents National Grid notified each year,which caused by low voltage electric shock accounted for the vast proportion.Therefore, the study of insulation spray devices are important both from economic and operational aspects:first, overhead lines with the insulation coating can reduce energy losses; Second, from the perspective of safe and reliable operation of the grid, insulation process of bare overhead line in some necessaiy locations can prevent the touch of human body, thus ensuring security of supplyRecently, transmission line robot reported in the current domestic and international are robots can only patrol the line or de-icing, which only have single function.The program proposes a design idea based on lightweight robot chassis technology, which can expand the functional units function performance by adding modular to the robot, not only achieve the current demand of transmission line patrol and sprayed insulation, but also meet the new demands of the future smart grid with a strong scalability system.Therefore, this article starts from the overhead line body structure, analyzes the operation obstacles of insulation spraying robot caused by overhead line components constructed, from the perspective of the overall design program of the insulated robot, studies the possessable barriers when the insulated robot step over overhead line components; considering unique shape and characteristics of overhead lines in image ology, the article proposes an recognition algorithm on the basis of visual obstacle detection, which can effectively solve the problem of insulation robot obstacle crossing.
