Energy saving is to strengthen energy management and take the measurements with technically feasible, economically rational, environmental and social bearing. From all aspects of energy production to consumption, saving energy and reducing consumption, less damage and pollutant emission as well as stoping waste can effectively and reasonably use energy.Thermal power plant is large primary energy user and the annual coal consumption is huge. Improving the primary energy utilization rate of thermal power plants and reducing the power generation cost are as much as possible to become the research topic of country’s major power generation enterprises and research institutes.With the further expansion of economic scale, energy demand will continue to increase more quickly, energy will be the prominent bottleneck at present and in the future for quite a long period of economic and social development in China. This paper improve economic performance of high pressure heater in thermal power plants, through experimental research and technological transformation of the high pressure heater performance for our600MW coal-fired steam turbine, the main factors affecting the performance of high pressure heaters and common faults are analyzed, the fault diagnosis of high pressure heater using gray correlation analysis method is provided to realize the economic and safe operation of the high pressure heater as well as energy saving and consumption reduction of thermal power units.
