In recent years, with the development of the domestic energy situation and the increasing requirement of environmental protection, it is more and more important to develop a micro gas turbine for burning hydrogen rich syngas. The combustion chamber is the core component of micro gas turbine and work in a complex environment. And it is difficult to master this process. In this paper, on the basis of home and abroad micro gas turbine design experience and combined with the characteristics of the hydrogen rich syngas, a new syngas combustion chamber of micro gas turbine combustor was preliminary designed. In order to conclude the burning law, the FLUENT software was used to simulate the characteristics of the combustion chamber. The work of this paper mainly includes the following aspects:1. According to the related design standard of gas turbine combustor and combined with the characteristics of the hydrogen rich syngas a100kW syngas combustion chamber of micro gas turbine combustor was designed. The combustion chamber adopt partial premixed combustion mode. The main fuel and the wind were bubbled into the flame tube after blended in the radial swirler. The fuel on duty was put into the flame tube through the pipe on the axis direction and burn with air on duty in diffusive combustion way. This design can regulate the temperature of the flame tube conveniently, also the formation and emission of pollutants.2. Numerical simulations were completed for the designed combustor with3-D full-scale model. The results proved that this model can be used for further research. Then the combustion chamber was simulated from three aspects, they were different primary flow swirling intensity, different pilot flow swirling intensity and the fuel ratio of the main passageway. And then the combustor’s flow, temperature field, distribution of CO, NOX emissions were analyzed. According to the law of combustion, the best working condition of the combustion chamber was summarized. The blade angle of radial swirler and axial swirler were adjusted to45°. Partial opening size of flame tube were adjusted to adapt to the new distribution.3. Hot numerical simulations were completed for the designed combustor under the nominal condition. And the hot flow field of the combustion chamber, the temperature distribution on axis line, the temperature distribution for export as well as the formation of NOX and uneven coefficient of the outlet temperature were analyzed. It is concluded that the design of gas turbine combustor for burning syngas meet the design requirements through comprehensive evaluation concluded in this paper. And this combustion chamber can be used for further research. The work of this paper laid the foundation for the further research of micro gas turbine premixed combustion combustor for burning hydrogen-rich syngas.
