With the continuous improvement of computer and communications technologies and the higher demands proposed by the developing grid, substation protection based muli-source information has become a research focus which is able to overcome the inner deficiency of traditional protection. Based on the research about the function and composing model of substation protection, this paper propsed two constitution schemes of substation protection according to the type of utilized information. One scheme is based on the current differential principle and utilizes the electrical quantities. The other based on the fusion information of protection and utilizes the pretection action information. Finally, implement and test the substation protection relying on a practical project in Duyun, Guizhou.Proposed a substation protection scheme based on current differencial principle which utilized electrical quantities. First, define four kinds of differencial area and analysis the fault condition of each area. Then, set the action scheme of each area. The action results of different fault components show that, by the coordination of the four areas, the fault can be cleared selectively and quickly, the whole performance of procetion gets improved.Proposed a substation protection scheme based on the fusion of pretection action information which utilized pretection action information. First, calculate the support degree that protection against fault component identification according to the effective protection range. Then, regard the support degree as the right of proctection action and construct the fusion reliable function and fusion reliable expection function. Finally, identify the fault component by their ratio. The results show that fault components can be identified correctly and quickly, and information missing or error can be replied. This scheme has good adaptability and fault tolerance.Finally, based on the practical network model in Duyun, Guizhou, and select the most representative substation (Xinzhai) as the test objects of substation protection. First, build the network model in the simulation platform and configure the appropriate module of substation protection. Then, test the function of substation protection. The final test results verified the feasibility of propsed substation proction schemes.
